Compost Extractor
Extract the biology from your compost and deliver it straight to the seed.
The IBP Compost Extractor is a simple, robust system for extracting living biology from compost and applying it directly in the field. Developed and field-tested over more than four years, it is gentle enough to keep beneficial organisms alive while being fast and easy enough for everyday farm use. Paired with the optional Distribution Kit, the extract can be delivered with precision straight into the seed furrow during planting.
What it can do:
- Extraction capacity of over 150 kg of compost per hour
- Filters down to 0.533 mm, gentle on biology, with most worms and all eggs surviving extraction
- Typical dilution ratios of 1:10 to 1:20, with up to 90% of biology extracted at higher dilution
- Suitable for in-furrow application, spraying, irrigation injection, soil drench, and seed coating
- Full clean-out takes as little as 5 minutes once trained
What is included:
- Barrel, air pump, air hose and fittings
- Filter unit with dual nylon mesh filters (0.533 mm)
- 2" outlet with approx. 4 m of hose and clamps
- Kitchen strainer and water hose holder
Optional: Extract Distribution Kit
Mounts onto your seeder to deliver extract precisely into the furrow as seed is dropped, maximising contact between biology and seed. Recommended rates range from 50–100 L/ha for wide-row crops like maize, up to 200–300 L/ha for narrow 12 cm row spacing.
Biological equipment should be kept separate from chemical spraying systems and thoroughly cleaned between uses.
